The purpose.. the plan.. and the details

Why not travel to Egypt to see the pyramids? Or to France to see the Eiffel Tower? What about Greece to swim in the clear blue waters? There are many people who travel to just..well... TRAVEL! They stay in fancy hotels, eat at 5 star restaurants that are "Americanized" and even travel in the highest quality of cars. To experience a different country you need to actually "experience" it. One must get their precious shoes dirty, eat the local delicacies, and at least try to walk the streets without buying anything. My personal opinion is to NOT be a "Hilton" when visiting another country.

Travel Blog sites aren't only an asset to see where to go, what to eat and what to go see when you're in a specific place... it's also allowing you read the experiences the writers have had on their travels. I chose the blogs on my page to research not only because they had to deal with writing, but because I can read about the personal meanings behind certain events that have happened in the writer's life. These people are trekking through terrain that is life changing. I believe that the because of these travel blogs, more and more people are liable to go out and travel as well...meaning that these blogs are affecting people through digital communication. Posting pictures, movies and personal thoughts on their blogs shows the public a National Geographic way of seeing the world right from your computer...which at times, inspires some to get off their butts, go buy a backpack, passport and plane ticket and go see it for themselves.

My goal in researching the bloggers themselves is to find not just the reason behind their blogging but what keeps them motivated TO keep blogging. I plan on basically "gutting and dissecting" the reason behind travel blog to properly understand it so I may explain the process and everything that deals with it to anyone who is interested!

Until next time..

I absolutely love your topic. I am addicted to traveling and exploring the world, and the internet has opened up a rennisence of travel to a new generation. You no longer need a travel agent or tour guide you just need your iPhone and TripAdvisor.com. Travel blogs are much more then just travel journals they are a way of advertising through word of mouth. I never stay at a place that does not have good reviews on the internet. Now that is power to the peeps'. :)
